Online Education: A Catalyst for Higher Education Reforms
This report looks at the challenge of how both online and blended learning can be optimized by incorporating emerging lessons from learning science, from discipline-based education reforms, and from cognitive science.
It is the final report of MIT’s Online Education Policy Initiative and presents findings from discussions among the members of the Institute-wide initiative supported by advice from the advisory group. The report reflects comments and responses received from many sources, including education experts, government education officials, and representatives of university organizations.
We invite you to join a forum on Education Xpress, an MIT publishing and community platform for digital innovation in education, to provide feedback and reflect on the ideas laid out in this report.
